Privacy notice

This collection is a public reference archive. Reading it requires no account, and the Secretariat does not track the people who read it.

Reading the collection

No account, no registration and no sign-in is needed to read anything published here, and there is no facility to create one. The Secretariat operates no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels and no third-party measurement of any kind on these pages, and does not build a profile of any reader.

What the pages load from elsewhere

The pages use a typeface served by Google Fonts, so a reader's browser requests it from fonts.googleapis.com and Google receives that request as it would for any site using the same service. Nothing else on these pages is loaded from a third party: the emblem, the stylesheet, the search index and the documents themselves are all served by the Secretariat.

Cookies

No cookie here is used for tracking, and none is shared with anybody. Opening a document sets a viewing-session cookie, which allows the pages of that document to be served to the reader who asked for them and expires after thirty minutes of inactivity. Signing in sets two: one that lasts the few minutes of the sign-in itself and exists to protect it from being interfered with, and the session cookie described below. There are no others.

Signing in to file a record

Filing a document into the collection is restricted to registrars of the Secretariat, who identify themselves through Google. The Secretariat asks Google for exactly two things: the registrar's email address, and the name on their account. It requests no access to their mail, their files, their contacts or their calendar, and holds no ability to read any of them. A registrar's password is entered on Google's own pages and is never seen by this server.

What is kept about a registrar

The address of the registrar who files a record is recorded with that record, and with any later amendment to it, as part of the registry's chain of custody. This is deliberate and it is permanent: a public register of documents is only as good as its account of who entered each one. A signed session cookie holds the address and the account name for twelve hours so that the form need not ask again, and is discarded on sign-out. Nothing else about a registrar is stored.

Disclosure

The Secretariat does not sell, rent, share or transfer personal information to any third party, and uses none of it for advertising or profiling. Information is disclosed only where the Secretariat is obliged to do so by a lawful order it is bound to obey.
